About Serratonin
Your happy place for movement.
Serratonin is a Pilates and movement studio in Basel, founded by Serra Faraci.
Inspired by serotonin – the “happy hormone” – and Serra herself, the name reflects what we want the studio to be: a place where movement feels good, where you feel at home in your body, and where you leave feeling a little better than when you arrived.
We bring together thoughtful Pilates training, modern movement knowledge and a warm, supportive atmosphere, to help you feel strong, confident and at home in your body.
Understanding the body as a whole
Our work is rooted in Pilates and informed by fascia-focused training, the Garuda method, movement science and nervous system awareness. Rather than following one rigid method, we draw from these different perspectives to help you move with greater strength, freedom and awareness.
Whether you’re here to build strength, support your recovery, improve posture, or simply enjoy an hour of mindful movement, Serratonin Pilates welcomes you with classes and private sessions designed to meet you exactly where you are.
Meet the Team
Serra Faraci
Serra Faraci, founder of Serratonin Pilates, is a highly experienced Pilates teacher known for her thoughtful, holistic approach to movement. Originally from Istanbul and raised in Switzerland, she brings a broad and open perspective to her work. With over 15 years of professional teaching behind her, she combines classical Pilates, the Garuda method, fascia-focused training, and hands-on nervous system work to support her clients’ overall wellbeing.
Continuous learning is central to Serra’s practice. She studies with leading educators in Pilates, movement science, and somatic work, integrating new insights into her sessions. Her focus goes beyond exercise: she aims to help people feel grounded, connected, and safe in their bodies — creating conditions that support healing, reduce tension, and improve how the body responds to stress.
Serra supports a wide range of clients and has particular experience working with those recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, or preparing for and healing after pregnancy. In 2023, she opened Serratonin Pilates to offer a space where training feels personal, gentle when needed, challenging when helpful, and always guided by a deep respect for the body’s natural intelligence.
